Build your skills and unleash your creativity
Ignite your passion for photography and learn from the experts at this entertaining and enlightening Immersion Seminar. Held in a comfortable, high-quality setting, the seminar offers a series of illuminating lectures and demonstrations. Come spend the day with us developing new skills and finding new inspiration. It’s the perfect way to experience photography and education in a dynamic fashion.
You’ll learn how to:
• Take full advantage of your EOS camera’s features
• Adjust menu settings for maximum picture quality
• Customize your camera to suit your personal style
• Create perfect lighting with Canon Speedlites
• Master the art of storytelling with EOS HD Video
• Shoot portraits, still-life, landscapes, and more with confidence
Getting creative with the essentials
The EOS is loaded with features and capabilities. It’s also uniquely customizable. Veteran photographer Jeff Greene will explain how to adjust the menu settings for maximum picture quality and customize the camera to suit your personal style. You’ll learn the best settings for different applications and different styles of photography such as landscape, motion, sports, macro, portrait, and more.
Find the perfect light
It's no secret that lighting can make or break a photograph. During the Speedlite lecture, Jeff Greene will explain the essentials of flash photography and demonstrate a variety of lighting scenarios and settings used by the pros. He’ll show you how to add a new dimension of quality to your images whether you’re using one Speedlite or three.
Storytelling simplified
Discover the many possibilities of storytelling with the EOS HD Video. Emmy winning photojournalist Sharon Levy Freed will take you through the aspects of the storytelling process, including structure and composition. You’ll learn how to frame action, choose the best angles, employ various video techniques, and ultimately produce more compelling videos.
Cameras are not required at this lecture. However, you may find it helpful to bring yours to follow along with menu and custom function discussions. Though much of the content is applicable to all Canon cameras, the majority of examples are from the latest models, such as the 7D and 5D Mark II. The lecture is supported by on-stage demonstrations and plenty of time is allotted for Q&A.
Canon Technical Representatives will be on-hand to demonstrate equipment and answer questions on Canon products, including printers.
Dubbed the “City by Nature,” Minneapolis has something for everyone. Unwind after the seminar with a relaxing walk on one of the many nature trails or through the vibrant, colorful downtown area. Sample the local cuisine at one of restaurants on aptly named Eat Street.
