Flash photography can be a lifesaver in many photographic situations. It can also be very frustrating to get the result you had envisioned in your head. In this class, we’ll cover the fundamentals of flash exposure and control with Canon Speedlites, as well as share several methods to easily modify the harsh look that direct flash can produce, and turn it into light that looks very natural and flattering on your subject. We’ll discuss what the different flash modes do and why you may want to use one mode over another in certain situations.
Most Canon Speedlite flashes have wireless capabilities and we’ll give you insight on how to use this technology to your advantage. The new Speedlite 600EX-RT uses radio frequency to trigger other flashes, up to nearly 100 feet away, with a high degree of reliability. It’s the only flash of its kind in the world and we’ll show you the benefits of the Speedlite 600EX-RT compared to other wireless types of flash photography still in use today.
