- Canon Live Learning
Join Canon Explorer of Light, George Lepp, in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado to photograph the unparalleled display of fall colors. George will take you to the best locations to capture the color at its peak. Canon and a Canon Technical Representative will have available the latest camera bodies and lenses for the participants to use.
Known for having some of the best Aspen forests and high mountain vistas in the country, the photography will center around the Grandscape. Participants will learn how to capture the beauty of SW Colorado’s beautiful fall colors in new and creative ways. Some of these techniques include “stacking” to increase depth of field, HDR as a tool to solve contrast problems, time-lapse to add life to images with running water and moving clouds. Some editing techniques would also be covered in classroom instruction, using the participants’ laptop computers.
Students will have the opportunity to learn in a small class limited to 16 people. You will be supported by the expertise and insights of George Lepp, assisted by a skilled Canon technical representative. We will car-pool to fantastic spots like Owl Creek and Grand Mesa and others, including Kebler Pass. All photography will be accomplished near the road. No hiking is required. Support staff will be there to help you with equipment questions both in the field and in the classroom.
