Los Angeles Times staff photographer Genaro Molina discusses keeping up with the constant changes as a newspaper photographer who began his career over 30 years ago in still photography, to working on multimedia projects and video. He will share his approach to shooting single images, photo essays, to adding sound on multimedia projects and how he incorporates all of his experience when shooting video.
Genaro Molina is an award-winning staff photographer for the Los Angeles Times. He has worked for the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, the Claremont Courier and the Sacramento Bee. He has photographed the life and death of Pope John Paul II, the tragedy of AIDS in eastern Africa, the impact of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans, Cuba after Castro, California migrant farm workers; the aftermath of the war in Bosnia, and the homeless of Los Angeles’ skid row. His work has been published in many books and his work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute, The Museum of the City of New York, The National Museum of Anthropology and History in Mexico City, FotoFest in Houston, Texas, Annenberg Space for Photography, LA County Museum of Natural History and California Science Center in Los Angeles.
