Motor sport is a severe and punishing meritocracy that delivers a wide range of emotions to fans at places with magical names like Le Mans, Sebring and Daytona. There is beauty, chaos and heroism on the world's grand race courses. Regis Lefebure chronicles that world and its colorful inhabitants with the same sort of passion that once propelled artists out of the studio and into the light. He captures the grace and beauty of speed with still photographs that have life, movement and depth, and with a palette that would be at home in the company of the great Impressionists.
His images have been used in ads by Audi, Ferrari, General Motors, and Porsche; also in ads for Transamerica Corporation and Canon.
Awards include American Photography 12, Graphis Photo Annual, Detroit Art Directors Club, the Society of Publication Designers and PDN Photo Annual.
