Eric Meola graduated from Syracuse University in 1968 with a B.A. in English Literature.
His graphic color images have appeared editorially in various magazines, including Life, Travel & Leisure, Esquire, and Time for which he did three covers. In 1975 he photographed the classic cover for Bruce Springsteen's album 'Born to Run'.
Since then he has done advertising and corporate photography for many clients including Canon, I.B.M., Kodak, American Express, A.T. & T., United Technologies, Jeep, Rollerblades, BMW, Timberland and Johnnie Walker. His prints are in several private collections and museums, including the ASMP archive, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., the International Center of Photography in New York, and the Museum of Modern Art in Munich. He has won numerous awards including the 1986 'Advertising Photographer of the Year' award from the American Society of Media Photographers, and in 1989 he was the only photographer in Adweek magazine's national 'Creative All-Star Team'; that same year he received a 'Clio' for the images he made for the 'Timberland' campaign.
Over the past 5 years Eric Meola has been working on a book sponsored by Kodak called 'The Last Places on Earth'.
