EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
The most extensive zoom range of any Canon EF-S lens… equivalent to roughly a 28–320mm lens on a traditional film camera. For shooters looking for one lens to tackle nearly all subjects they're likely to encounter, this may be the answer. Like many of Canon's recent lenses, this one has Image Stabilization, allowing users to shoot at shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. This lens' versatility speaks for itself for travel and other documentary purposes, whenever long telephoto coverage and true wide-angle is needed in one lens.
- Perhaps the ultimate one-lens solution for documentary uses, especially if powerful telephoto "reach" is needed
- Surprisingly compact design; lens' rear-group focusing means that front of lens doesn't move or rotate during AF or manual focusing
- At 200mm zoom setting and nearest focus distance, fills the frame with a subject about 2.75x1.75 inches (roughly 7x4.5cm) in size
Note: Canon EF-S lenses are exclusively for compatible APS-C sensor cameras (EOS 20D through 60D, EOS 7D, and all versions of EOS digital Rebel), and cannot be mounted or used on other Canon EOS digital or film SLR bodies
